The TSSAA reduced its Tennessee Titans Mr. Football semifinalists to three finalists in each classification Tuesday and will announce the winners Dec. 2 at Nissan Stadium during a luncheon, kicking off BlueCross Bowl week. The Mr. Football awards are given to the top player in the state in each of nine classifications as well as the top kicker in the state. A committee of statewide sports writers selected winners based on performance in the 2019 regular season. Academics and character also were taken into consideration. High school coaches and members of the media nominated the finalists through a preliminary vote. There will be 10 new winners this year as all of last year's winners graduated.
