Lumberjacks manage only 10 shots on goal in 1-0 home loss to Moorhead

Jan. 11—BEMIDJI — The Bemidji High School girls hockey team had trouble getting pucks to the net on Thursday night at the Bemidji Community Arena.

Facing perennial state contender Moorhead, the Lumberjacks managed just 10 shots on goal, coming up short on the scoreboard in a 1-0 defeat.

The Spuds (16-2-1) volleyed 27 shots in the direction of BHS goaltender Payton Weidemann. She stopped 26 of them, but the Jacks (11-9) were unable to answer back.

Moorhead scored the game's lone goal on Olivia Kortan's 5-on-5 shot in the first period. Kortan was assisted on the score by Ella Holm. Taylor Kressin finished with 10 saves in net for the Spuds to pick up the win.
