Luka Doncic ruled out against Thunder on Wednesday

The Oklahoma City Thunder will not have to face one of the best players in the league on Wednesday night.

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic, who entered the day as questionable with lower back tightness, has been ruled out, according to New York Times reporter Marc Stein.

Doncic, voted a starter in the NBA All-Star Game, is averaging 28.6 points, 9.0 assists and 8.4 rebounds per game while shooting 47.8% from the field and 35.7% from 3.

He has led the Mavericks to an 8-2 stretch over the last 10 games to boost Dallas’ record to 17-16. During those 10 games, Doncic has averaged 31.7 points.

Oklahoma City has not played since Saturday, when it suffered a 126-96 loss at the hands of the Denver Nuggets. The Thunder will look to improve their record to 15-20 against the Mavericks.

Hamidou Diallo (groin soreness) and George Hill (thumb surgery) are out for the Thunder, while Darius Miller’s status is unclear after he missed the game against the Nuggets due to a stomach illness.

The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. Central. This will be the Thunder’s second-to-last game before the All-Star break, and the final game of the first half of the season for the Mavericks.
