LSU women’s basketball’s Mikaylah Williams named SEC Freshman of the Week once again

For the second time this season, LSU’s Mikaylah Williams has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week.

Williams played a major part in wins over Missouri and Ole Miss as the Tigers began conference play with a 2-0 record. Though she only scored 11 points in the former game, she totaled a career-high seven assists.

She had a much better outing from the floor in the win over Ole Miss on Sunday, scoring 20 points while shooting 4 of 5 from beyond the arc. Williams currently ranks sixth in the SEC in scoring (16.9 points per game) and her 45.5% mark from three-point range ranks second in the conference.

Williams and the Tigers will be back in action on Thursday night as they host Texas A&M at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
