LSU defensive line commit flips to another SEC school

LSU has an elite recruiting class to be thankful for in 2023, but it lost a four-star recruit to the Auburn Tigers on Friday morning.

Darron Reed is a defensive lineman from Columbus, Georgia, where he plays for Carver-Columbus high school. Reed committed to Brian Kelly and LSU back on July 4.

After Reed committed to LSU, he took three visits to Auburn to watch a few games. Auburn is less than an hour away from Columbus, so it is convenient and close to home. Early signing day is a month away, so this is not the news Kelly was wanting to hear for his 2023 recruiting class that ranks as the No. 5 class in the country.

The class took a hit losing a really talented guy in Reed, but this is still a talented defensive line class that includes blue chips in Dashawn Womack, Jaxon Howard and Joshua Mickens
