LSU commit Dominick McKinley named a top performer at All-American Game by On3

The Under Armour All-American Game was held in Orlando on Wednesday, and LSU’s latest 2024 commitment was a participant.

The Tigers flipped five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley — the No. 1 overall prospect in the state of Louisiana — away from conference rival Texas A&M on New Year’s Eve. With the addition of the top-30 national prospect, LSU’s 2024 class jumped into the top 10 nationally.

On3’s Charles Power named McKinley one of his standouts from the All-American Game, and he went as far as saying that McKinley was the best defensive lineman in attendance. He praised his jump and leverage, calling him “unblockable” in Orlando this week.

Dominick McKinley looked like the top defensive lineman in Orlando. The new LSU commit had some ‘wow’ moments over the course of the week, absolutely detonating on interior offensive linemen on more than occasion. The 6-foot-5, 290 pounder plays with outstanding leverage. He fires off the ball and stays low, getting underneath the pads of opposing offensive linemen and uprooting them in the process. The combination of size, length, flexibility and functional movement skills are highly projectable. When McKinley was at his best over the week, he was essentially unblockable. The Lafayette (La.) Acadiana product ranks as the No. 37 overall prospect in the On300 rankings.

McKinley is currently the only unsigned member of LSU’s class as he plans to sign his national letter of intent in February.
