LSU star cornerback Greedy Williams is off to the NFL. He declared for the NFL draft on Sunday.
Williams is a possible first-round selection in the draft. He announced his decision on Twitter.
“I Have been blessed by God with a beautiful and supportive family. My blessings also include my LSU Tiger Family, both on and off the field. It is with those abundant blessings in mind that I have chosen to pursue to enter the 2019 NFL Draft” #BeGreedy pic.twitter.com/pAIq6T4vIN

LSU will play Central Florida in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1. Williams will not play in the game, per The Advocate.
LSU coach Ed Orgeron was seemingly surprised about Williams’ declaration when it happened Sunday afternoon. He was speaking to reporters about LSU’s matchup with the undefeated Knights on a teleconference and said he was surprised about his star’s decision.
“I didn’t know it was posted yet,” Orgeron said. “We did have a meeting. We were going to have a final meeting, but if that’s what him and his family want.”
Williams has 33 tackles and two interceptions in 2018. He had six interceptions in 13 games in 2017. He’s been an integral part of LSU’s stellar defense as the Tigers earned a New Year’s Six bowl berth.
White, a junior linebacker, is considered a possible first-round selection in the draft as well.
