LSU adds Stanford grad transfer Terrence Alexander to thin secondary
LSU received a nice boost to its secondary on Thursday morning.
The Tigers announced that they have added Terrence Alexander, a graduate transfer cornerback from Stanford, to their roster. The 5-foot-10, 182-pound Alexander will be eligible to suit up immediately for the team next season.

Alexander played in 41 games over his four years at Stanford and totaled 57 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, eight passes defended, one forced fumble and one interception. He played in Stanford’s opener against Rice in Australia last year, but missed the rest of the year with an unspecified injury. From there, he was granted a medical redshirt that allowed him to pursue his fifth year elsewhere.
LSU, a team with a secondary lacking in depth, was a natural fit for Alexander, who played high school ball at John Curtis Christian School in New Orleans, his hometown. Per the Baton Rouge Advocate, Alexander is expected to compete for a starting role opposite Greedy Williams, a freshman All-American who tallied six interceptions in 2017. Sophomores Jontre Kirklin, Kary Vincent and Mannie Netherly are also in the mix.
LSU, entering its second season with Ed Orgeron as head coach, will play its spring game next Saturday, April 21.
