This summer's Love Island-shaped hole in our lives will be filled in just a couple of months, as a new spin-off show has been announced.

Currently titled Love Islanders: What Happened Next?, three hour-long episodes narrated by Iain Stirling (who else?) will air on ITV2 sometime this autumn.

According to ITV, it will celebrate "some of the amazing Islanders who have appeared on the nation's much loved programme over the past five years, and will catch up with their lives since their time in the famous villa".

Although many of the former villa stars have since gone their separate ways, the show will update viewers on those chosen few who are still going strong together and what they've been up to in the outside world.

Of course, the spin-off will also reunite stars who've found themselves single once again, as they sit back and enjoy (or more like cringe at) memorable highlights from their journey on the Isle of Love.

Although the coronavirus pandemic caused the cancellation of the 2020 UK summer series, Love Island US is already back in production, and has moved from its original location of Fiji to a Las Vegas hotel.

UK fans have also been treated to another international version recently – Love Island Australia aired its first season on ITV2 again in recent weeks, and viewers were still upset about the final result.

Love Islanders: What Happened Next? will air this autumn on ITV2.
