Los Angeles Lakers announcer Stu Lantz to Phoenix Suns: 'Put us out of our misery'

Even Los Angeles Lakers announcers are evidently ready for the team's disappointing season to be over.

Stu Lantz, an announcer for the team, was caught on a hot microphone during the team's game against the Suns Tuesday night saying: "Get this over with. Put us out of our misery," along with some other things.

You can hear his complete comments, which weren't intended to air live judging by him beginning his comments with "Hello, Anthony," in the Tweet below.

The Suns' granted Lantz's request, earning a 121-110 win that wasn't as close as the final score indicated.

Phoenix won a franchise-record 63rd game with the victory. Los Angeles fell to 31-48 and was eliminated from NBA Play-In Tournament contention with the loss.

The Suns have now essentially ended the Lakers' season two years in a row.

NBA Twitter had a field day with the Lakers being eliminated from playoff contention in the aftermath of the game.

The New Orleans Pelicans also had some fun at Anthony Davis' expense.

"That's All Folks!" the official Twitter account for the Pelicans said. "After tonight’s results, our Play-In Match Up is set. We will face: @Spurs."

In 2019, Anthony Davis wore a shirt inscribed with the Looney Toons sign off, "That's all folks," to the Pelicans' season finale after he publicly requested a trade. He ended up being traded to the Lakers.

The Suns may have eliminated the Lakers, but it appears like the misery in Los Angeles could continue.
