A look back at Tennessee’s 2004 win at Vanderbilt

No. 11 Tennessee (9-2, 5-2 SEC) will play at Vanderbilt (5-6, 2-5 SEC) Saturday in Week 13.

Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. EST at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. The in-state contest is the regular-season finale for both teams.

Each week, Vols Wire will look back at one of Tennessee’s memorable games against its upcoming opponent.

This installment will revisit the Vols’ 38-33 victory at Vanderbilt Nov. 20, 2004.

Cedric Houston scored two rushing touchdowns (6, 11 yards) for Tennessee in the first quarter.

The Commodores trailed, 14-6, after Jay Cutler completed an 11-yard touchdown pass to Marlon White.

Houston’s third rushing touchdown and Rick Clausen’s 20-yard scoring completion to Jayson Swain extended Tennessee’s lead to 28-6.

The Vols led, 28-20, at halftime.

In the third quarter, James Wilhoit converted a 34-yard field goal.

The Commodores scored 10 unanswered points during the final 15 minutes. Jeff Jennings recorded a rushing touchdown and Cutler completed a passing touchdown.
