A look back at Team USA Eddy Alvarez’s Olympics journey as he prepares to join elite company

It is a matter of whether Eddy Alvarez will add a gold or silver medal in baseball at the Tokyo Olympics to the silver medal he earned in the 5,000-meter relay at Sochi in the 2014 Winter Olympics. Alvarez joins other Americans Eddie Eagan (boxing in 1920, bobsled in 1932) and Lauryn Williams (track and field in 2004 and 2012, bobsled in 2014), as those who have medaled in Winter and Summer Olympics.
