Lonzo Ball to miss third straight game for New Orleans Pelicans vs. Sacramento Kings

Lonzo Ball will miss his third consecutive game on Sunday as the New Orleans Pelicans take on the Sacramento Kings. Ball has been sidelined for going on a week with bilateral knee tendinopathy, though he still remains day-to-day.

On Saturday, head coach Stan Van Gundy provided an update on Ball’s condition as the Pelicans enter the second week of their two-week road trip.

“He says he feels a lot better. (He’s) really working hard on strengthening the muscles around that knee which seems to really help. I think he’s pretty optimistic about being able to come at full strength and pretty optimistic that’s (his return) is not in the distant, distant future. I think we’re talking more days to a week than we are weeks.”

After Sunday’s game against the Kings, the Pelicans will travel to Utah for two games against the Jazz on Tuesday and Thursday before a stop in Minnesota on Saturday ends the road trip.
