Logansport Memorial Hospital to open a new pain management center in April

Mar. 5—The Logansport Memorial Hospital will be opening a new pain management center on April 1, according to a press release.

Called the Logansport Memorial Pain Management Center, some of the conditions they may treat include neck and back pain, work-related injuries, arthritis pain in the spine and joints, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, nerve damage, muscle spasm pain, shingles pain, headaches and persistent pain after neck or back surgery, the press release says. Possible treatments include injections, nerve blocks, kyphoplasty, radiofrequency ablations, spinal cord stimulation and minimally invasive lumbar decompression.

"The opening of the Logansport Memorial Pain Management Center is an opportunity to expand our clinical services to better serve our community's needs," Logansport Memorial President and CEO Tara McVay said in the press release. "We want to continue to provide a high level of patient-centered care within the north-central Indiana region, and this clinic will allow our patients to have convenient access to high quality, safe treatment methods for chronic pain."

According to Vice President of Physician Network, Workforce Health and Sports Medicine Rachel Theodore, the hospital has partnered with the Pain Management Group to open the new center. Their team of providers utilize an interdisciplinary model of care, which includes physical therapy, neurology, primary care, medical imaging and other areas, to address patient well-being from multiple perspectives, the press release says.
