Logan Thomas reportedly gets three-year extension after breakout year with Washington
Converting from quarterback to tight end has worked out well for Logan Thomas. The Washington Football Team rewarded Thomas' breakout with a reported three-year extension Tuesday, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
Financial details of Thomas' extension are not known at this time. Thomas made $1.2 million last season.

Thomas excelled in his first year with Washington. After bouncing around the NFL for years, Thomas got an opportunity to start for Washington and didn't look back. He hauled in 72 catches for 670 yards and six touchdowns with the club in 2020. It was a big step up for Thomas, who had 35 career catches prior to signing with Washington.
The extension signals Washington expects Thomas to continue to serve as a key contributor to its offense moving forward.
Logan Thomas faced long road in NFL before starting role
Thomas, 30, was originally drafted by the Arizona Cardinals as a quarterback in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft. He completed one pass that season, an 81-yard touchdown. Thomas was cut by the team prior to the 2015 NFL season. He bounced around the NFL from 2015-17, getting cut eight times.
Thomas re-emerged as a tight end with the Buffalo Bills in 2018. He spent two seasons with the team, catching 19 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown. He signed with the Detroit Lions in 2019, and put up 173 yards and one score before joining Washington prior to the 2020 season.
