Local teams ranked in latest OSSAA polls

Mar. 14—These teams are making their names known early.

Multiple local teams in two classes have made their appearance in the second week of spring baseball rankings.

In Class 2A, the Hartshorne Miners are ranked as the No. 14 team. The Miners have taken multiple wins in the early season, with victories over teams such as Moss, Allen, Heavener, and Wilburton.

In Class B, both Kiowa and Stuart are ranked in the top 10.

The Cowboys are slotted at No. 5, and returning to action following an appearance in the state tournament semifinals last fall. This season, they've rocketed out to a hot start with wins over teams such as Talihina and Haileyville, and a ranked win over No. 8 Caney.

The Hornets come in as the No. 6 team in a return to the diamond following their state tournament appearance in the fall. They too have started the season on a streak, taking wins over Strother, Crowder, and a ranked win over Kiowa.
