Lizzo is not here for body shaming. And neither are we, tbh. Taking to social media, the musician called out "tired" beauty standards and the constant pressure that she – and others – are put under to achieve them.

"The discourse around bodies is tired. The discourse is tired," she said in a clip that has since been censored on Twitter with a warning that reads: "The following media includes potentially sensitive content."

"I have seen comments go from 'oh my gosh, I liked you when you were thick, why did you lose weight?' to 'oh my gosh, why'd you get a BBL, I liked your body before' to 'oh my gosh, you're so big, you need to lose weight for your health' to 'oh my gosh, you're so little, you need to get ass and titties or something' to 'oh my gosh, why'd she get all that work done? It's just too much work'."

"Are we okay? Do you see the delusion?" Lizzo questioned. "Do we realise that artists are not here to fit into your beauty standards? Artists are here to make art, and this body is art. And I'm gonna do whatever I want with this body."

"I wish that comments cost y'all money. So that we can see how much time we are fucking wasting on the wrong thing," she went on to say in the video, emphasising her point in the caption, which read: "Every comment under this post [will] cost you $5.99… likes and retweets are free."

You tell 'em, Lizzo!
