While #CinCityPride, the recruitment of southwestern Ohio, has been a point of emphasis for Cincinnati, the Bearcats have now snagged a pair of targets further midwest.
Monday afternoon, Cincinnati added its second commitment from the Windy City and ninth in the 2018 class. This time, Mount Carmel (Ill.) two-star guard Jeremy Cooper gave his pledge. He made the announcement on his Twitter page:
Exactly one month ago, Simeon (Ill.) three-star athlete Jayshon Jackson became the first Chicago commit in the 2018 class for the Bearcats.
Cooper chose Cincinnati over offers from Colorado, Ohio and Northern Illinois. He also had FCS offers from South Dakota State, Western Illinois, Youngstown State, Yale, Southern Illinois and Indiana State.
