Lindgreen, Scullion finish top seven

Feb. 24—VALDOSTA, Ga. — Christian Lindgreen and Tom Scullion finished in the top seven as Cumberland took third place at the Kinderlou Forest Spring Invitational.

Host Dalton State won the event carding 15-under-par as a team with 6-under 282 in round three today. Coastal Georgia finished in second at 2-under as a team. The Phoenix finished in third at 4-over as a team.

Cumberland shot a 1-under Tuesday as the Phoenix posted a 287.

Christian Lindgreen climbed up five spots to finish in a tie for third place. Lindgreen finished out his second round with an even-par 72 before firing a three-under 69 in his final round. He picked up one bogey on his second hole of the round before finishing with four birdies and 13 pars.

Tom Scullion posted a 1-under in his final round to finish with 215 strokes, two back from Lindgreen. Scullion played steady golf in the third round posting three birdies and two bogeys to finish tied for seventh.

Tiger Houston and Will Samuelsson tied for 20th place with 222 strokes apiece. Samuelsson moved up the leader board three spots after finishing with a 1-over 73. Samuelsson picked up two birdies and three bogeys on his round. Houston slid down the board five spots after posting a 3-over 75. He picked up a birdie on No. 9 and had four bogeys.

Patrick Chesnut dropped three spots to finish tied for 26th place. Chesnut shot a 74 in his final round. He picked up three birdies with three bogeys and a double. He posted 223 strokes for the tournament.

Colin Smith, playing as an individual, finished in 42nd place. Smith finished round two with a 79 and shot an 83 in round three.

The Phoenix will compete again next at the Carey Collegiate on March 11-12 in Hattiesburg, Miss.
