Lil'Jordan Humphrey to make Patriots debut vs. Dolphins in Week 1

Patriots preseason standout to make team debut vs. Dolphins originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

Lil'Jordan Humphrey didn't make the New England Patriots' initial 53-man roster earlier this month, but he'll have the chance to contribute in the team's regular-season opener Sunday against the Dolphins in Miami.

The 24-year-old wide receiver was called up from the Patriots' practice squad Saturday and isn't listed among New England's seven inactive players for Sunday's game, meaning he'll be in uniform for Patriots-Dolphins.

Humphrey, who signed a one-year contract with New England after three seasons with the New Orleans Saints, enjoyed a strong preseason for the Patriots, compiling 140 receiving yards and a touchdown over three games. At 6-foot-4, 225 pounds, Humphrey also can play tight end and could serve as depth at both positions for New England on Sunday.

The Patriots may need that depth; top wide receiver Jakobi Meyers is active but is dealing with a left knee injury that limited him in practice this week and has him wearing a brace Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium.

DeVante Parker, Kendrick Bourne, Nelson Agholor and Humphrey round out the receiver depth chart with rookie Tyquan Thornton on injured reserve.

Here are the full inactives for both teams ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
