Sep. 11—BETHEL — Amelia Holland and Avery Bessey scored two goals apiece to help pace Spruce Mountain past Telstar 7-0 in MVC field hockey action Monday.

Aaylah Herrera tallied a goal and an assist, and Brooklyn Fournier and Elizabeth Grondin also scored for the Phoenix (2-1). Aubrey Kachnovich, Ryanna Taylor and Miley Fournier provided assists.

Goalies Mallory Clark and Kyleigh Marcotte and the Spruce Mountain defense held Telstar (0-4) without a shot on goal. Lyndsy Stephenson made 26 saves in net for the Rebels.

The Rebels and Phoenix played to a draw in Bethel.

Cyrus Mills scored Telstar's goal, while Jesse Lewis had Spruce Mountain's goal off an assist by Jonathan Hines.

Phoenix goalie Trevor Hogan made nine saves.
