Leicester assist 'the norm' for Bergkamp
Dennis Bergkamp’s assist against Leicester in the final game of Arsenal's invincible season of 2003-04 has caught the eye of the Match of the Day: Top 10 panel.
Bergkamp's threaded ball set Patrick Vieira through to equalise - a vitally important goal on the final day of their title-winning season to maintain their unbeaten record.
Micah Richards, Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker all agreed the Dutch maestro's pass was almost business as usual for a wonderfully technical player.
"Very much like Kevin de Bruyne with the regularity of his assists," said Shearer, who named it his eighth-favourite Premier League assist of all time.
"Because of his stupidly high standards every week, that pass was the norm for Bergkamp. I could see him doing it every week."
Richards' verdict was even simpler: "Not even his best."
