LeBron pumps up son Bronny, says he looks better than guys seen on League Pass

Bronny James is projected by many as a first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, how high depends on whose ranking you trust. What’s not in question is he is a four-star recruit who has improved key parts of his game in the past couple of seasons and impressed many scouts.

He’s got one proud dad — a dad out injured and with some time on his hands to watch games. LeBron James is going over the top as proud dads will. LeBron Tweeted this out Monday night (we’re not posting the actual Tweet due to language):

Man Bronny definitely better than some of these cats I’ve been watching on league pass today. S*** lightweight hilarious

LeBron drew a few LaVar Ball comparisons with that Tweet (and, like the Ball children, nobody is probably better at tuning out their father than a teenage son). That’s unfair, LeBron was clearly having a lot of fun with this, not being totally serious.

It also led to a lot of speculation on NBA Twitter about who LeBron was referencing (maybe he was watching the Pelicans in the fourth quarter). Again, he wasn’t being earnest, and second of all, he’s a dad, he probably thinks his son is better than everyone who played last night except Joel Embiid, and that one is up for debate.

The most realistic thing LeBron could take away from last night with his son coming into the league is Scott Foster will probably toss him from a game over nothing at some point.

LeBron has said he would love to play with — or at least in the league at the same time as — Bronny. That also may be a longshot, depending on where his son is drafted and how willing LeBron is to take a massive pay cut and move out of SoCal to make it happen.
