LeBron James will not play against the Knicks on Tuesday after he was suspended for a game due to his role in Sunday’s altercation against the Detroit Pistons.

James struck Isaiah Stewart in the face with a closed fist after a free throw, which led to some pushing, shoving, and shouting matches. James received a Flagrant 2 and was ejected from the game.

Tuesday would have marked James’ first game at Madison Square Garden since Jan. 22, 2020 - he was inactive at the Garden on April 12 last season.

Stewart was suspended for two games, and this is James’ first suspension of his career.
