LeBron James jokes that he's 'ready' for Michael Jordan's one-on-one GOAT challenge

On Sunday night, a Michael Jordan commercial went up on Twitter. He asked the viewer — and possibly the world — what’s the best way to determine the GOAT, or the greatest of all time. He came to his conclusion quickly: a one-on-one contest, of course.

But Jordan wasn’t talking about basketball. He was talking about football. And the GOATs he mentioned weren’t himself and LeBron James, but Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, who are squaring off in the next Sunday Night Football game on NBC.

He had us fooled for a few seconds there! And he may have had someone else fooled for a bit as well — LeBron James, who happens to share Jordan’s famous No. 23. LeBron posted on Twitter at some point after seeing the commercial, and he’s got jokes!

It’s hard not to agree with LeBron, though! A one-on-one GOAT competition between Michael Jordan and LeBron sounds … well, it sounds pretty wild. If Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson can do it, why can’t MJ and LeBron, right?

There’s one obvious reason, of course: Michael Jordan is 55, 22 years older than LeBron. A one-on-one competition between the two wouldn’t be fair with LeBron still in top shape and Jordan having retired 15 years ago. Unless we can bring 1990-1991 Jordan into present day, there will never be a way for the two to play each other to determine the greatest player of all time.

But if modern technology can ever get to that point, it’s good to know that LeBron is on board.
