LeBron had interesting response when asked about Kareem’s record

One of the most anticipated storylines of the new NBA season is LeBron James approaching Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s record for most career points.

James is currently at 37,062 points, which places him just 1,325 points behind the legendary Los Angeles Lakers center.

If all goes well for the four-time MVP, he could surpass Abdul-Jabbar sometime late this winter. The team is reportedly hoping to stage a big event if and when he does so.

After the Lakers’ first preseason game versus the Sacramento Kings on Monday night, he was asked about breaking the record and if he has a relationship with Abdul-Jabbar, and James deadpanned an interesting answer.

Knowing James’ personality, his response likely could’ve been meant as a joke.

Still, he will put yet another notch on his belt, and it will be a huge one, once he leapfrogs Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer in the regular season.
