Latrell Wrightsell will be available for Sweet 16 matchup against North Carolina

It has been a tough couple of months for senior guard Latrell Wrightsell Jr. from an injury standpoint. Wrigthsell missed a handful of games down the stretch of the regular season with a head injury and would suffer another head injury in Alabama’s round of 32 win over Grand Canyon.

The injury occurred in the first half of the matchup against the Lopes as Wrightsell closed out on a three-point shot. The sharp-shooting guard would take an incidental elbow to the head and would miss the remainder of the contest.

Following the win, Nate Oats provided a quick update on Wrightsell ahead of the Crimson Tide’s Sweet 16 matchup against No. 1 North Carolina.

…..Wrightsell will be able to play with us Thursday. He got elbowed in the head, had a head injury. He’s had some real bad luck here lately, but we’re going to be playing again and he can play with us again on Thursday.

Alabama will need Wrightsell against the Tar Heels to pull off the upset and advance to the Elite Eight.
