Just a couple of hours after Igor Shesterkin was placed in health and safety protocols, the Rangers allowed five goals in a loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Vezina hopeful will likely miss the Blueshirts' next two games against the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday and Los Angeles Kings on Monday, according to Vince Mercogliano of USA Today.

As for Artemi Panarin, he has been in protocols since Sunday, but the Rangers hope he can return to the team before Saturday's game.

Puck drop against Anaheim is scheduled for 10 p.m., but the Ducks' game on Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings was postponed after Anaheim placed four players into protocols on Thursday afternoon. Thus, there's no guarantee that Saturday's game will be played.

The Rangers sit in a tie for first place with the Washington Capitals atop the Metropolitan Division with 48 points.
