Henry Ruggs III became the first wide receiver off the board as the twelfth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders. The wideout out of Alabama will add incredible speed to the Raiders’ offense, as his 4.27-second 40-yard dash was the fastest time at the NFL Combine this year. Las Vegas used its second first-round pick to focus on defense and add Damon Arnette, which came as a surprise since the CB wasn’t predicted to go in the first round by many mock drafts.

The Raiders confused many with their back-to-back Round 3 picks when they drafted two receivers in a row, Lynn Bowden Jr. and Bryan Edwards. While plagued with a bit of an injury history, Edwards versatility makes him a good rotational piece in a a now-stacked receiving corps while Bowden Jr. brings elite production in different positions to the table. His QB/RB/WR skillset make him comparable to Taysom Hill for any offensive willing to get creative.

A second cornerback, Amik Robertson, was added to the defense with the Raiders’ last pick, while Clemson safety Tanner Muse was snatched in the the third round. Muse is a hybrid linebacker with special teams potential that brings energy and hustle to Las Vegas’ secondary.

Another Clemson player, guard Jonah Simpson, rounded out the Raiders’ draft picks.
