Through three performances on ABC's summertime talent/variety contest "Sing Your Face Off," Toronto Raptors swingman Landry Fields — a man with a gift for song, in case you weren't aware — had acquitted himself quite well. From Lionel Richie to Pitbull to Enrique Iglesias, Fields had showcased not only his vocal talents, but also his willingness to commit to, and comfortably pull off, the character work required of a competition in which participants are judged not only by how well they sing the songs, but by how accurately they impersonate the performers whose songs they're charged with covering.

On Sunday night, though, Landry faced his sternest challenge yet: getting his Barbie on. Yep — the fates saw fit to force Fields to perform Nicki Minaj's 2012 pop hit "Starships." Here, without further ado, is what resulted:

I'm no song-and-dance man myself, but I tend to think that if you're stunning guest judge Richard Simmons into slack-jawed shock, then you've probably done at least something right.

Fields' reward for his full-body-suited commitment, according to someone who watched the show and recapped it? Fifty-eight out of a possible 60 points, and survival until next week, where he'll get to don the pants of the venerable M.C. Hammer. I'm guessing that might be a slightly more comfortable costume for Landry, albeit without quite as much cushion in certain areas.

Hat-tip to Beyond the Buzzer.
