Lamar Jackson inactive vs. Packers, Tyler Huntley to start for Ravens

Buckle up, Baltimore Ravens fans. Quarterback Lamar Jackson is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

Backup Tyler Huntley will get the start in Jackson's place. He finished Baltimore's Week 15 game when Jackson left after hurting his ankle, completing 27-of-38 passes for 270 yards and one touchdown.

The Ravens were quick to say earlier in the week that the news on Jackson's ankle was "good" since he had a regular ankle sprain and not a high ankle sprain, which typically takes longer to heal. The decision on whether to start him on Sunday appeared to go down to the wire, but Jackson wasn't on the field for practice on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, and was listed as questionable at the end of the week.

The Ravens have been a little cagey about Jackson's injury, mostly downplaying it during the week. Despite the bluster about his start being a game-time decision, it seemed inevitable that he'd miss one game. But if he's not making progress next week, the Ravens may be in big trouble.

No, Snoop Dogg is not starting at QB for the Ravens

There was some confusion about 90 minutes before the Ravens and Packers were set to kick off. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweeted that Jackson was inactive, and inexplicably tagged Snoop Dogg's account in the tweet.

The tweet stayed up instead of being immediately deleted due to a mistake, so everyone assumed it was intentional. It initially appeared to be an inside joke between Rapoport and his colleague Tom Pelissero.

But it turns out it was a mistake after all. Huntley's Twitter handle is @_SNOOP1, which is sort of close to @SnoopDogg. You can see where Rapoport got his wires crossed — though imagining the actual Snoop Dogg getting ready to quarterback a game against the Packers may be more entertaining than some of Sunday's contests.
