Steve Alexander explains that Talen Horton-Tucker has been rolling in the month of April and should continue to be fantasy relevant with LeBron James and Anthony Davis out.
STEVE ALEXANDER: We all thought that Talen Horton-Tucker would immediately start going off when LeBron James was shut down due to his ankle injury, but it never really happened. But, suddenly, THT is rolling in April, scoring in double-digits in all four of his games and racking up 14 points, 11 assists, three steals, and two 3-pointers last Saturday against the Nets. In his four April games, THT is averaging 15.5 points, 3.5 boards, 4.5 assists, 2.5 steals, and 1.5 3-pointers on 43% shooting.
Horton-Tucker has been worth a 12th-round fantasy pick over the last couple of weeks, and jumps up to a 10th-round player over his last couple of games, and with Anthony Davis and LeBron James still at least two or three weeks away from returning, THT will look to keep it going for at least two more weeks. He hasn't had a block since way back on March 21, but he was blocking shots in February, when he averaged almost one per game. If the shot-blocking returns in the near future, consider it a bonus, and don't get too caught up in the 11 dimes he had last Saturday, either, as he's just as likely to have zero dimes as he is to have five of them in a game, depending on what day it is.
