Lady Vols shut out South Carolina

A late goal propelled Tennessee into the win column for the fifth consecutive time Sunday.

After a scoreless first half, the No. 12 Lady Vols found the back of the net in the 87th minute.

Freshman Taylor Huff scored a goal to help UT notch a 1-0 victory over South Carolina at Stone Stadium.

The Lady Vols (12-1-0, 5-1-0 SEC) have won five straight league matches after losing their SEC opener to Arkansas on Sept. 17 in Fayetteville.

Tennessee also snapped a home conference unbeaten streak for the Gamecocks (9-4-0, 4-2-0). Before the match, South Carolina did not lose an SEC contest at home since 2018.

Claudia Dipasupil and Jaida Thomas were each credited with an assist on Huff’s marker, her seventh of the 2021 campaign.

UT goalkeeper Lindsey Romig made four saves en route to recording a clean sheet.
