Lady Vols to play Xavier in NCAA Tournament

Tennessee (8-6-4, 3-4-3 SEC) will play No. 4 seed Xavier (14-3-4, 6-0-4 Big East) on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. EST at Corcoran Field in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Saturday’s contest will be a rematch of last year’s first-round game, won by the Musketeers, 4-1, in overtime. Jaida Thomas scored the Lady Vols’ lone goal.

Saturday’s match will be the eighth all time meeting between Xavier and the Lady Vols. Tennessee leads the series, 4-3, dating back to 1996.

Tennessee will be making its 15th overall NCAA Tournament appearance since 2001. Danielle Marcano is Tennessee’s all time points leader in the NCAA Tournament (14).
