Lady Vols’ pitcher Nicola Simpson is one of 32 athletes attending the 2022 Canada Softball Women’s National Team selection camp this week.

The camp began Wednesday and runs through June 12 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

Simpson, a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, made 14 appearances, including two starts, for Tennessee last season.

She was 2-0 and recorded 11 strikeouts in 22 innings.

Simpson’s two victories were in back-to-back relief appearances against Texas A&M and East Carolina.

Her older sister, Kaia, is also at this week’s selection camp.

Kaia Simpson is a pitcher for UC San Diego. The two sisters appeared in Tennessee’s game against the Tritons at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, California.

The Lady Vols won, 8-0.
