Lady Vols clinch No. 3 seed in SEC Tournament
No. 12 Tennessee (38-15, 15-8 SEC) concluded its regular season with a 3-1 victory against Auburn (39-14, 11-13 SEC) Sunday.
Ryleigh White (3-2) pitched 6.1 innings for Tennessee. She yielded one run and three hits, while striking out one.
Auburn was held scoreless until Jessie Blaine hit a solo home run in the seventh inning.
Erin Edmoundson recorded her first save of the 2022 season. She retired Auburn’s final two hitters and struck out one.
Tennessee scored twice in the fourth inning. Kelcy Leach and Ashley Morgan recorded RBI singles in the inning.
Amanda Ayala hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to give the Lady Vols a 3-0 lead.
Ayala was 2-for-2 with two runs. She was also hit by a pitch.
