Lady Maroons go 1-1 at Elizabethtown

Apr. 8—The Lady Maroons of Pulaski County were back in action after having a majority of Spring Break off on Saturday, as they traveled to Elizabethtown for a pair of contests against high-quality opponents.

Pulaski was able to carve out a quality win over DuPont Manual in their first game 6-4 after a pair of home runs from Brooklyn Thomas. Shelbie Sellers also collected two RBI's, with Claire Hamilton getting a single RBI with a double. Chloe Carroll also earned a hit. Bella Ellis earned the win on the mound, going four innings with the start while allowing just two runs on four hits with two walks and a strikeout. Thomas pitched the final three innings, allowing two runs on four hits as well with three walks and five strikeouts. DuPont Manual was led by freshman Bella Newell with three RBI's and two home runs.

The Maroons were not able to conquer their second opponent however, as they fell to the Bethlehem Banshees by once again a score of 6-4. The Maroons were led by Rilee Ross in the loss, as she finished with two RBI's on three hits. Hamilton and Thomas each added one RBI apiece, with Ryann Sowder finishing with three hits and a double and both Ellis and Carroll also earning a hit apiece. Ellis went the full seven innings on the mound, allowing six runs on eight hits with one walk and two strikeouts.

Pulaski sits at 7-4 and will next face off against Casey County in a district series starting on Monday.
