Lady Lions run-rule First Baptist Christian

Feb. 28—HUNTSVILLE — With five straight district titles to defend, Alpha Omega Academy softball has tried to find its footing in the young season.

In their first two home games, the Lady Lions were taken down by St. John XXIII and Cypress Christian in early Feb.

But that changed Tuesday night. The Lady Lions defeated Pasadena First Baptist 11-1 to get their first home win of the season.

Senior pitcher Allie Warren threw a complete game, giving up two hits and striking out seven Pasadena hitters.

The Lions banged out 13 hits to get the 5-inning run-rule victory.

Warren led the attack at the plate going 4-4 with 3 doubles and 3 RBI.

Sophomore Morgan Keenright added a 3-4 day, also collecting 3 doubles and 3 RBI. Kolbi Ashorn and Claire Jackson each had 2 hits.

Maddie Wallace and Jaelyn Lopez also added to the offense.

The Lady Lions will play two games next week against Frassati Catholic and Centerville, before opening District play on March 19.
