Lady Guard hands Dallas Christian first district loss

Feb. 5—MESQUITE — Brook Hill handed Dallas Christian its first district loss Saturday by taking a 49-46 overtime victory.

Brook Hill (24-8, 9-2) trails Dallas Christian (13-7, 10-1) by a game in the district standings, with three regular season games left on the docket.

Dallas Christian led 31-30 going into the fourth period, but the Lady Guard came back in the fourth stanza to tie the score and force a bonus period. Brook Hill outscored the home team, 8-5, in overtime to secure the win.

Four members of the Lady Guard team ended up in double figures, with Lila Morris leading the way with 14 points to compliment her eight rebounds. Morris went 4-5 from behind the arc.

Savannah Onley scored 12 points, pulled down eight boards and had three steals while Breanna Hill added 11 points, five rebounds and five assists for Brook Hill.

Remy Tonroy finished with 10 points.

Karmen Miller snagged seven rebounds for the Lady Guard.

Next up for the Lady Guard is a 6 p.m. game Tuesday at Herrington Gymnasium. Dallas Covenant will provide the opposition.
