Kyrie Irving did not accompany the Nets on their current road trip in order to tend to a family matter, the team announced Monday.

Irving will miss the Nets' games against the Portland Trail Blazers (Mar. 23), Utah Jazz (Mar. 24), and Detroit Pistons (Mar. 26).

The Nets' next home game is on Mar. 29 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Irving missed seven games in January after taking a leave of absence.

Upon his return, Irving did not specify why he was away.

Irving has been playing at an MVP level this season, averaging 28.1 points, 5.7 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game.

At 29-14, the Nets are 1.0 game back of the Philadelphia 76ers for the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
