Last week, Mathew Knowles, Beyoncé's father, tweeted an old video of himself scoring a basket on a young Kobe Bryant in a one-on-one game 20 years ago while on the set for Destiny Child's "Bug A Boo" music video.
It showed Kobe missing a jumper, followed by Knowles “driving” past the Lakers guard for an uncontested layup.
Check out this video of me and Kobe shooting some hoops on the Bug A Boo video set. If you know me then you know I love playing ball! 🏀

Well, you just knew the Black Mamba would come back with a response. He was asked about the video on Friday and said exactly what you thought he would say.

“I don't remember him scoring another basket after that," Bryant said, via Fox Sports. “I think that he posted the one that he scored. But, yeah I mean, I had to be nice a little bit."
Bryant said the game came about during some downtime on set, when Knowles claimed he played basketball.
“I had a lot of energy so I'm like, 'Well, let's just hoop,’” Bryant said.
Kobe did credit Knowles for the lefty finish, the “English” on the layup and the jab step. But of course, there was trash talk involved.
“I think I was like, 'Oh yeah, you played basketball,’” Bryant said. “This moves a lot faster in person, isn't it?'“
Seems like Beyoncé's dad opened up a Pandora’s box, setting himself up for Kobe to pounce. He doesn’t seem to care, though, telling TMZ last week that "it was a privilege to kick your ass and I'll do it again."
Look, the video doesn’t lie: Knowles scored on Kobe Bryant. But without footage from the full game, we have no clue whether Knowles actually beat the NBA legend or if Kobe simply let him by for a pity basket.
