What you should know about No. 1 Purdue basketball vs. Iowa in Big Ten play, and Zach Edey

Purdue basketball seeks a bounce back from its loss at Indiana when Iowa visits.

The No. 1 Boilermakers (22-2, 11-2) still hold a healthy lead in the Big Ten standings, even after IU got loose for 50 first-half points and held off a Purdue rally over the weekend. Zach Edey had 33 points, 18 rebounds and 3 blocked shots, and Fletcher Loyer scored 12. The rest of the Boilers made 10-of-26 from the field, and Purdue was -8 in turnover margin.

The Hawkeyes (15-8, 7-5) are on a 3-game winning streak, all at home. Tony Perkins of Lawrence North High School scored 32 points in their 81-79 win over Illinois over the weekend. Iowa is 2-4 in true road games. In Big Ten play, Kris Murray is averaging 21.3 points and 7.4 rebounds, while Filip Rebraca adds 13.5 points and 8.0 rebounds. Payton Sandfort adds 10.0 points on 40.4% 3-point shooting.

This is the only regular-season meeting between these teams this season. The Hawkeyes beat Purdue in last season's Big Ten tournament championship game after the Boilers swept two regular-season matchups.
