Dolan, during a radio appearance Tuesday on ESPN Radio, expressed a very high level of confidence that New York will be successful in NBA free agency this summer.

"We hear from people all the time. From players, from representatives, it's about who wants to come," Dolan said. "We can't respond because of the NBA rules, etc., but that doesn't stop them from telling us, and they do. I can tell you from what we've heard, I think we're going to have a very successful offseason when it comes to free agents."

He also talked about The Ringer's Bill Simmons, who said on one of his recent podcasts that Dolan was "courting offers" to sell the Knicks. Dolan also accused Simmons of trying to "destabilize" the Knicks.

The Knicks, of course, have been a rumored destination for Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant and Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving, both of whom are able to become unrestricted free agents in July.

Irving said during a Celtics season ticket holder event in October that he planned to re-sign in Boston, but when asked about his future before a February game against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden, the superstar guard said "ask me July 1." Durant and the Warriors have had their fair share of reported friction this season, highlighted by an on-court incident between KD and Warriors teammate Draymond Green in November.

The Knicks have two max contract slots entering the summer, and there's no question they will at least attempt to land marquee free agents. But the Knicks have done very little over the last 25 years or so to show free agents that the organization is capable of making the right decisions in building a championship roster.

Will that be enough to keep Durant, Irving and others away from MSG this summer? Time will tell.
