LAS VEGAS — Not that Knicks fans would would over-react and blow something way out of proportion, but after a couple of strong showings in the Vegas Summer League the Knicks GM tried to downplay expectations about Kevin Knox. New York’s first-round pick had a couple strong games in Las Vegas, but the list of guys who had a couple of strong Summer League games and are playing in Europe is long.

Then Knox went out and dropped 29 on the Lakers Tuesday night. And the hype train was full steam ahead.

He found his touch from three for the night (after struggling in earlyier games), hitting 5-of-7 from deep. He’s averaged 23.3 points per game in Las Vegas.

He’s still got some development to do, but Knicks fans should be happy. At least in Vegas, Knox is deserving of the hype.
