Knicks exercise fourth-year team option on Quentin Grimes
The Knicks announced on Monday afternoon that the club has officially picked up guard Quentin Grimes’ fourth-year team option.
By exercising the option, the Knicks now have Grimes under contract through the 2024-25 season.
Picking up Grimes’ option should come as no surprise, as the 23-year-old has made himself a huge part of what New York does on both ends of the court. Head coach Tom Thibodeau is known for making young players earn their play, and Grimes has done just that.
The 25th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft became a full-time starter by his second season, starting 66 games in 2022-23 while averaging 11. 3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
Grimes is also a 38.3 percent three-point shooter while being a terrific perimeter defender. He has started all three games this season, joining Jalen Brunson to make up the starting backcourt.
