Klay Thompson throws down the poster dunk, sends Kyle Singler stumbling (Video)

When assessing Dunk of the Year candidates, most analysis understandably covers the difficulty and athleticism of the dunk itself. But the aftermath can be equally important. Take, for instance, last season's winner, DeAndre Jordan's obliteration of Brandon Knight. Would it have been so popular if not for the sight of Knight lying still on the ground. The entire package matters.

This dunk from Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors on Kyle Singler of the Detroit Pistons might not be the best dunk of the year so far, but Singler's reaction puts it in the conversation. Thanks to some bad transition defense by the Pistons, Thompson took the ball with a lane towards the basket. Singler met him at the rim, but he was unable to stop the finish. Take a look:

Again, the star of the show here is Singler. After the dunk, he loses his balance and backwards before falling into the cheerleaders seated in front of the first row. It's like something out of "Mike Tyson's Punch Out":

Better luck next time, Kyle. Or if you can't stop the opponent from getting to the basket again, maybe hire a trainer and work out in a pink sweatsuit to get in tip-top shape.
