Klay Thompson jumped into the ocean to 'get right' before Game 4

Athletes are highly superstitious people. So, when Klay Thompson wasn’t putting up big numbers in the Golden State Warriors’ early playoff games against the Los Angeles Clippers, he knew he had to get right.

What did Thompson do? Well, it involved lots of water.

Speaking after the Warriors’ 113-105 win Thompson said, “I told Jonas [Jerebko] yesterday ‘Yo, I’m just going to jump in the ocean.’ I just know that will reset my mind and it worked.”

The ocean plunge worked wonders as Thompson scored 32 points on 12-of-20 shooting and 6 of 9 from the 3-point line. His 32 points helped the Warriors on a night where Stephen Curry scored just 12 points on 3-of-14 shooting.

Would Thompson entertain another dip into the ocean if push came to shove?

“So, I don’t know if [I’m] going to jump up north cause it’s freezing, but [it’s] something I’ll definitely contemplate if I don’t shoot the ball that well the rest of the year. Hopefully, that doesn’t happen.”

The Warriors will play the Clippers in Game 5 of the Western Conference playoffs on Wednesday.
