Kings forward Harrison Barnes becomes latest NBA player to announce positive coronavirus test

Sacramento Kings forward Harrison Barnes tested positive for coronavirus. Barnes announced the news Tuesday, saying he tested positive before the team left for Orlando.

Barnes, 28, says he’s primarily asymptomatic, and is currently in quarantine.

In 64 games, Barnes is averaging 14.7 points and 4.8 rebounds with the Kings.

Barnes intends to join the Kings in Orlando once he’s cleared. At 28-36, the Kings are fighting for the eighth seed in the Western Conference. It’s unclear whether Barnes will be ready when the team plays its first game July 31.

Barnes is the second player to announce a positive coronavirus test this week. Houston Rockets star Russell Westbrook announced Monday he tested positive for coronavirus.
