Kings' De'Aaron Fox hits buzzer-beater, leads Sacramento past Heat

The Miami Heat held a two point lead with just three seconds to go on Wednesday night in Sacramento, and seemed poised to take the win against the Kings.

De’Aaron Fox had another plan.

Fox caught an inbounds pass at the top of the key and immediately drove to the hoop. The point guard fought through four defenders and threw the ball up, sinking the bucket as the buzzer sounded, sending the game into overtime.

From there the Kings had reacquired the momentum and rolled to the overtime win, beating the Heat 123-119. The rookie out of Kentucky finished with 20 points in the game, shooting 9-of-14 from the field.

This isn’t the first time Fox has hit a late-game shot. He hit his first game winner back in November, knocking off the 76ers with a lefty jumper at the free throw line. He did something similar in January, throwing down a game-winning dunk with just three seconds left on the clock against the Heat in Miami.

The win on Thursday also snaps a two game losing skid for the Kings, who currently sit in 13th place in the Western Conference.
