Kim Kardashian Is Facing Serious Criticism Online After Posting "Spider-Man: No Way Home" Spoilers On Instagram

Kim Kardashian's name trended on Twitter for hours today, after the SKIMS founder shared some decidedly revealing snippets from Spider-Man: No Way Home on her Instagram story.

As you can probably imagine, the ensuing attention paid to Kim online was not the positive kind. Posting spoilers from popular movies or television shows — especially when they've just been released — is generally considered a grave judgment error by the greater pop culture–consuming community and more or less a cardinal sin by Marvel fans' standards.

To be fair, lots of people have watched Spider-Man: No Way Home since it premiered earlier this month. The superhero trilogy's latest installment, starring Zendaya, Tom Holland, and Jacob Batalon, broke box office records during its opening weekend, and, more recently, became the first movie to earn over $1 billion globally since the pandemic began.

Kim may or may not have seen No Way Home in theaters already, but she definitely screened the film at home this week and documented the viewing session on social media.

And even though the Spider-Man content that appeared on her Instagram story yesterday was later taken down, loud criticism of the former KUWTK star continued to circulate on Twitter.

"Not Kim Kardashian posting Spider-Man spoilers on her Instagram story," one user wrote. "If I hadn't seen it already, I'd be LIVIDDDD."

It seems fair to say that assessment was spot on. "I've muted everything Spider-Man related on all my socials to avoid spoilers since I'm watching it tomorrow...Just for Kim Kardashian to post a whole fucking spoiler on her IG," another user said, while someone else simply thanked Kim for "ruining" the movie and added a middle-finger emoji to the end of their tweet for good measure.

Think this backlash is warranted? Lest we forget that Hawkeye fans literally reported Florence Pugh on Instagram after she posted screenshots of her own character in the series...
